Open Your Router's Admin Panel

Open your browser and log into your router's admin panel. If this is your first time, you'll be prompted to set an admin password.

Enable the Guest Network

In your router's admin panel, go to the Wireless section and enable the guest network.

You can set it as an open network or add a WiFi password — either works with GuestGate.

Open LuCI

Open LuCI, the OpenWrt configuration interface. On GL.iNet routers, navigate to:

System → Advanced Settings

On other OpenWrt routers, LuCI is typically accessible directly at your router's IP address. You may need to set a separate password if it's your first time.

Go to Software

In LuCI, navigate to:

System → Software

This is the package manager where you can install software on your router.

Upload & Install

Click Upload Package, select the guestgate.ipk file you downloaded in Step 1, then click Install.

The package will install automatically. Once complete, GuestGate is running on your router.

Open GuestGate

Open your browser and go to http://192.168.8.1:5000/admin/ to launch the GuestGate dashboard.

Your 30-day free trial starts automatically. To activate a full license, go to Settings → Registration and copy your hardware fingerprint.

Compatible Routers

GuestGate is built for the GL.iNet MT3000 (Beryl AX). It should also work with other OpenWrt-based routers that support LuCI and .ipk package installation, including:

  • ✓GL.iNet — Flint 2 (MT6000), Slate AX (AXT1800), Slate Plus (A1300), Flint (AX1800)
  • ✓Cudy — WR3000, X6 (official OpenWrt firmware available)
  • ✓TP-Link — Archer AX21, Archer C7, Archer A7 (requires OpenWrt flash)
  • ✓Any OpenWrt router with LuCI and at least 16 MB flash / 128 MB RAM

GL.iNet routers come with OpenWrt pre-installed and are the easiest to set up. Other routers may require flashing OpenWrt firmware first.
